My Family

Have you read Pride and Prejudice? Have you at least seen one of the film adaptations? If you haven't, leave immediately. Go rent the movie and then come back. Don't worry. I'll wait.

Oh, you're back? That movie is amazing, right? Isn't that Mr. Darcy so handsome? Don't you want to throw Lydia off a bridge? But, back to business...

Let's pretend that I named my first daughter Elizabeth, then named my son Bennet two years later... just because I liked those names. And that one day I yelled out, "Elizabeth, Bennet... Let's go!". And then said to myself, "Hold the phone, Elizabeth Bennet?!".

And that since Pride and Prejudice is true, we embraced it and named each additional child after one of the Bennet sisters. Yes, even Lydia. But, if a Mr. Wickham ever shows up, trust that I will lock her in the basement.

Isn't that a fun story? It's not at all true, not even a little. (Well, except for the part about Wickham.) But it's a very nice story, and much more interesting than me making up a bunch of fake names for my family on my blog. So, I'm going with it. I suggest you do, too.

Now, go watch the Colin Firth version of P&P if you haven't already. You can thank me later.
