Jane turns Eight

Jane wanted her ears pierced for her birthday more than anything. I told her she couldn't have them done until she was ten, but when clip on earrings were the only thing she wanted for her birthday I decided to surprise her with a trip to Claire's. She was very excited indeed.
Eight is a big year for Mormon children, it is the age when they can get baptized. Jane was a little nervous about this step a few months ago, but only because she was afraid to go under the water. Luckily she learned to swim this summer, so she is no longer afraid of being dunked.
This girl is so much fun. She is the peacemaker of the family. She wants everyone to get along. If one of her little sisters is throwing a fit and we are all trying to ignore it or are busy dealing with other things, Jane will be the first one to try to calm them down. She is a softie.
At the same time, she is the biggest goof ever... At home. She is shy, very quiet and uneasy in front of strangers but at home the inner spaz cannot be contained. She got it from me. So totally me. The silliness she gets into with her older siblings cracks me up. So wacky is my Jane.
I have always loved Jane's profile. Her ski slope nose is just too adorable for words. And that sweet little chin, I have always wished I had a sweet little chin.
Jane is adventurous, fun loving, kind, intelligent, and occasionally super super stubborn (also me.). I love this cute little elf.
Happy Birthday, Miss Jane.
Many Happy returns to a beautifull young lady. I hope you have a wonderfull day.
I hope Jane has a lovely birthday. Those photos are superb, she is a beauty. I think she and my nine year old would be good friends. They could talk about Ivy and Bean and all things purple.
Ah! Happy Birthday Jane! Wyatt loves you soo soo much! His babysitter has a similar name and I told him she was coming over he said all the way from Washington! Miss you, all of ya!
Did she grow 18 inches in the last 2 months? She's like a little lady now!!
Wow really 8? I can't believe it was eight years ago Lizzy, Bennett, and I were playing dress up at home waiting for her to be born. And then going down to meet her for the first time. Happy Birthday Jane!
Happy Birthday, Jane! You are a lovely young lady, and your mama is right...you have the most beautiful profile. :D Congratulations on getting your ears pierced! My mom made me wait until I was 10, and I made my daughter wait, so you totally lucked out. :D
She's looking so grown-up!
Kate has just this week learned to put her head underwater. (She was so thrilled about that.) I hadn't considered the baptism aspect. Thank you for pointing that out.
