Not so snowy day

We got our first real snow today. It was a huge disappointment for me... not because I hate snow (which, really, I sort of do), but because they said we would get 15 inches and we got, like... four.

I've never experienced a real snow storm that shuts everything down for days, and honestly, I was looking forward to it. No school, just snow forts and snowmen and sleeping in. Heavy on the sleeping in, please. The western side of the state that rarely gets snow was getting slammed by this storm. Some places got 11 inches! I was so excited. I kept looking out the window last night as each snow-less hour passed.

My two little girls conspired against me, see? Neither one of them was feeling well. Kitty would cry, I would go calm her down, peek out the window, lay back in bed, then hear Lydia. Calm her down, check for snow, lay down, Jane appears to tell me Kitty was crying again. And again, and again. I didn't get Kitty settled until 2 a.m. Then Lydia wanted to eat, and then started coughing, then, I don't know? Lonely? She wasn't resting peacefully until 4 this morning.

They say we might get 8 more inches, but I know they are just messing with me. I had a college professor (Mormon) who thought that LDS weather men shouldn't be allowed temple recommends. He was kidding, of course (I think?).

But, I'm pretty sure tomorrow morning I will wake up and find maybe one more inch of snow and have to get all the kids off to school, same as every other day. More's the pity.

How is your weather? Do you want a Snowpocalypse?

I say Bring it on!! But,since I live in Tn it probably won't happen, and ,of course, down here your 4 inches would be considered a blizzard...:0) truly people would be running crazy for milk and bread...oh well,I can dream of piles of snow..

We got a decent dumping of snow (about six inches, I think) but now it has turned to rain. It is a slushy mess out there. And the forecast is pretty much just rain for the next few days.
Sometimes I think it woud be fun to have bunches of snow but the realistic part of me would not like it. And I am glad this time that it won't mess with my husband's flight getting home. It can snow in a couple week when he is home!

I have never lived where it snowed, but I have always wanted to! I even own snowshoes. But to use them, we have to drive a couple of hours to the mountains and deal with traffic and hotel bills. Ugh. I want to move to where there are normal seasons! I would be THRILLED to wake and find 4 inches of snow here.

I live in Illinois so I have lived through many Snow storms. I do enjoy be stuck at home during the storm. Schools rarely close for snow though. It has to be bitter cold and windy for schools to close.

It has been a bummer since our snow removal service has gone off to college! So it is up to the hubby and me to clear the snow.

We woke up disappointed too. We didn't even get an inch. Boo! Snow or bring on spring--that is my opinion.

Liberty, what part of TN? I'm south of Nashville. However I was born in CT so I do in fact know what "real" snow looks like. I remember in elementary school my school bus had chains on their tires. I don't think they do that these days (showing my age) I think they close more than they did when I was little. You are right though, just say the word snow and people here panic. MUST BUY ALL THE BREAD MILK AND TP! LOL it's kind of funny! Mary I hope you get your snowpocalypse soon!

We've been pretty much snowless all winter here--and I live in New England! We had a freak snowstorm in October and got an inch a couple of days ago. It's actually snowing right now, but isn't supposed to amount to anything. It's supposed to snow like crazy on Saturday. But that's just because I hate driving in the snow and I have something planned that I really want to do. Of course.

sunny and 60 degrees. Everyday...the... same...weather.--oh, except for the summer when it's 115.

oh, and my personal favorite is what the f word. I should start using that instead of the actual f word.

I am in the middle of tennessee and they close the schools for a dusting of snow. Seriously crazy. Just once I would love to wake up to 4 inches of snow, my girls would go crazy!!
